Joint events platform meets to develop a unified program for Nov.25 campaign
The joint activities platform of women's movements and organizations in North and East Syria met to develop a unified program for the campaign that it will launch during the next few days on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
Over the past few days, the Joint Events Platform for Women's Movements and Organizations in North and East Syria has held several meetings with the aim of developing a program of events and activities in preparation for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (November 25 of each year).
The platform consists of (the Women’s Council in North and East Syria, the Syrian Women’s Council, the Women’s Coordination in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Kongra Star, the Zenobia Women’s Gathering, the Syriac Women’s Union, the Women’s Council of the Democratic Union Party, and the Women’s Council of the Future Syria Party, The Young Women’s Union, the Women’s Office in the Syrian Democratic Council, the Women’s Office in the Democratic Society Movement, the Center for Research and Protection of Women’s Rights in Syria, the Women’s Committee in the Human Rights Organization in Al-Jazira Region, the Women Peace Leaders Network, the Sara Organization for Combating Violence against Women, the Shawishka Association, and the Women’s Peace Movement. The Golden Crescent and the Free Women’s Endowment.
The joint events platform seeks to intensify and consolidate the efforts of women's movements in events related to women in North and East Syria, and to support the issue of women in Syria and the world.
The member of the Women's Council Coordination in North and East Syria, Stair Qassim, explained that they met to develop a unified program and slogan for the Day of Elimination of Violence against Women campaign that includes various activities and events.
Stair Qassim added: “On every occasion, a platform meeting is held to exchange opinions and discuss the contents of the events and determine a unified slogan for these events. They will be launched on a specific number of days agreed upon and determined according to the circumstances of the region, while the platform’s campaign program is revealed through a statement delivered on a specified day.”
The program of activities for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women this year includes organizing lectures in all cities and villages, holding dialogue seminars, and organizing mass marches, according to Stair Qassim.
