The Israeli army said in a statement, "Following the sounding of sirens a short while ago in open areas near the Gaza Strip, the air force intercepted three projectiles that crossed into Israeli territory from southern Gaza. No injuries were reported." The statement added that "details are under review."

Local sources in the Gaza Strip had previously reported that the Israeli army's Iron Dome missile defense system fired interceptor projectiles in the airspace southeast of Khan Yunis.
