Iran confirms continuity of nuclear program despite military escalation

The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami, said that "the Islamic Republic intends to continue its nuclear program despite the recent attacks targeting its main nuclear facilities."

In an interview with the Iranian Broadcasting Corporation (IRIB), Eslami indicated that Iran seeks to continue production without interruption, adding that the extent of the damage to the facilities is still being assessed.

Experts reported that the extent of the damage resulting from the attacks launched by Israel and the United States remains unclear.

Israel launched a large-scale military operation against targets inside Iran on June 13, declaring that it seeks to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, a claim Tehran strongly denies. Iran responded with a series of missile and drone attacks, leading to a dangerous escalation that threatens to expand the war in the region and has left 638 people dead on both sides. Amid this escalation, a ceasefire was declared and went into effect at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, announced by US President Donald Trump.
