Abduction Kurdish citizen in Tal Aran by Tureky gangs

An armed, masked group affiliated with the so-called "General Security" raided the Kurdish-majority town of Tal Aran in the southern Aleppo countryside this morning, Tuesday, June 24. They kidnapped Kurdish citizen Ahmed Amouri al-Khamis and took him to an unknown location. He remains kidnapped at the time of writing this report.

According to the kidnappers' allegations, Ahmed al-Khamis is accused of having previously dealt with an officer of the former regime in the car trade. The Afrin Human Rights Organization - Syria denied the accusations and quoted local residents as confirming that Ahmed Amouri had worked for years in a car sales office in his town and had no ties to the former regime. They considered his arrest part of a systematic campaign targeting residents of the Kurdish region.

In a related development, mercenary groups affiliated with the Turkish occupation released Kurdish merchant Zakaria Mustafa Bashar, three days after his abduction, without clear charges or legal proceedings.

In another incident that sparked panic among residents, a leader of the Turkish occupation mercenaries, Saif al-Din al-Jassim, accompanied by his assistant known as "Abu Muath," opened fire indiscriminately yesterday evening, Monday, at 7:35 p.m., in the middle of al-Nabaa Square in the town of Shih in the Afrin countryside.

Eyewitnesses reported that the shooting was provocative, with no regard for civilian lives, in blatant defiance of the decisions issued by the Ministry of Interior of the "Syrian Transitional Government," which had previously declared a ban on firing in populated areas.

These violations are part of an ongoing series of acts of intimidation, arrests, and kidnapping targeting the people of Afrin and the surrounding areas, amidst the absence of any real oversight or accountability for mercenaries.
