Intellectuals of Aleppo: agreement is an important step to enhance peace
Intellectuals in Aleppo affirmed that the agreement reached between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Damascus Authority is an important step to enhance peace and achieve the goals of the revolution, for which many sacrifices were made, in addition to enabling the bonds of brotherhood and harmony among the components of Syria.

An agreement consisting of 14 clauses was concluded between the General Council of the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods and the Damascus Authority on April 1st, which intellectuals in Aleppo described as the first step towards implementing the decentralization model in Syria.
Ahmed Berhat, co-chair of the Aleppo Cultural Forum, explained: "The agreement reached between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian regime occupied a significant place in the agendas of Western, regional, and local countries because it stood against attempts at division and external ambitions."
Ahmed Berhat noted that the agreement "contributed to bridging visions and perspectives in the process of building Syria's future, and the clauses on which the agreement was based are profound and have an impact on changing the region's reality for the better, the most notable of which are the ceasefire and creating a kind of trust in the components obtaining their rights and exercising their freedoms that they have been deprived of for many years."
Berhat saw that the conclusion of such agreements is evidence of the people's awareness and their understanding of the importance of the stage they are going through. He pointed out that the agreement is linked and complementary to the agreement made between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Damascus Authority on March 10.
Berhat affirmed the people's insistence on adhering to the option of dialogue and understanding through agreements to advance their country towards reconstruction, and not to be drawn into the division attempts by those who tried to exploit the phase to create a rift among the components, prolong the crisis, and plunge the country into a pool of blood.
Brahat evaluated the agreement as a practical implementation of the decentralization system in the country, and as a message that decentralization does not mean separatism and does not pose a threat to Syria's future; rather, it untangles the knots, guides the compass of peace in Syria, and resolves the crises that have plagued the country for over a decade.
As for Sherin Sheikho, a member of the Aleppo Cultural Forum, she explained: "The agreement reached between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Damascus Authority is an important step to enhance peace and achieve the goals of the revolution, for which many sacrifices were made, in addition to strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and harmony among the components of Syria."
The power of women!
Sherin emphasized that the blood of the martyrs brought the stage to unprecedented levels, contributed to the signing of peace agreements, achieved gains, and stopped the bloodshed.
Regarding the prominent role of women in the recently concluded agreement between the General Council of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods and the Damascus Authority, Sherin explained: "What is remarkable about this agreement is the presence of a feminine touch, which is the result of the women's struggle who have played pioneering, leadership, political, and diplomatic roles throughout the duration of the crisis, sending a profound message that women are capable of playing their part in decision-making centers."
