Women in the city of Tirbespiyê stressed that the explicit and guaranteed protection of women's rights in Syria's new constitution constitutes a fundamental pillar for building a democratic, pluralistic and decentralised Syria. After years of drought that inflicted heavy losses on rain-fed agriculture in the Alyan region of the Jal Agha countryside, local farmers have begun harvesting the first crops of cucumber and snake melon this year, benefiting from the abundant rainfall during the current season.
