Syrian parliament to vote on its internal regulation

The Syrian Parliament is preparing to vote today on the draft of its internal regulations during the second session of the current legislative term—a session scheduled to be held behind closed doors.

The Speaker of Parliament had previously issued a decision to form a 17-member committee tasked with drafting these regulations; the committee held four meetings last week to discuss the draft's provisions and initial wording.

The committee concluded its work after subjecting the draft to legal review and validation, and Parliament announced yesterday, Saturday, that the document was ready to be presented for a vote during today's session.

This move follows a meeting of the Parliament’s Bureau on July 13, which addressed the agenda for the upcoming period and preparations for subsequent sessions, including the mechanism for forming the internal regulations committee and organizing parliamentary proceedings.
