On the 21st of March every year, more than 300 million people around the world celebrate Newruz, which over many centuries has become a symbol of shared struggle and freedom for many peoples who have preserved its rituals despite bans and challenges (photos and video attached).

A leader in the Arab National Council, Hikmat Habib, confirmed that democratic decentralization is a fundamental gateway to protecting the rights of all components, ensuring fair participation, and building a new Syria based on pluralism and unity in diversity (photos and video attached).

A legal expert affirmed that the continued detention of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters exposes the interim government to legal accountability. He considered that detaining them after their withdrawal from agreed-upon positions does not constitute prisoners of war under international law, but rather illegal detention that requires their unconditional release (photos and video attached).

Since Syria declared its independence in 1946, several constitutions have succeeded one another, reflecting profound political transformations—from parliamentary rule to the union with Egypt, followed by military coups and one-party rule, up to the latest constitutional declaration announced by the interim government. However, one clause has remained a constant subject of controversy: the position of the Kurdish people in the constitutional text (photos attached).

Employees and workers in the Syrian public sector are facing a worsening livelihood crisis due to delayed salary payments and a lack of liquidity, amid conflicting explanations between a shortage of cash or a technical problem in the payment application. This has increased the suffering of families with rising prices and unclear reasons for the delay (photos attached).

The Council of Martyrs’ Families in the city of Qamishlo will hold a condolence ceremony for Saleh Muslim, member of the Presidential Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), at Al-Rahma Hall in the Hilaliya neighborhood at 10:00 (photos and video attached).

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Syrian Women’s Council will organize a dialogue session titled “Women’s Political Participation: Present Challenges and Future Prospects” in the city of Qamishlo at 10:00 (photos and video attached).

The people of Kobani will hold a funeral procession for the body of the activist martyr Saleh Muslim, along with a group of martyrs, to their final resting place at Martyr Dicle Shrine in Kobani at 12:00 (photos and video attached).

The people of Hasakah will also hold funeral ceremonies for the bodies of 10 martyrs, to be laid to rest at Martyr Dijwar Shrine in the village of Al-Dawoudiya at 11:00. Meanwhile, the Council of Martyrs’ Families in Qamishlo will bury the bodies of five SDF martyrs and one Internal Security Forces martyr at Martyr Delil Sarokhan Shrine at 12:00 (photos and video attached).

Celebrating the arrival of Newruz, the residents of Tirbespiye will light the Nowruz flame at the western entrance of the city. The residents of Mustafawiya village in Kirkê Legê will also light the flame at 20:00, and in the city of Derik the flame will be lit in Bayram Square at 20:00 (photos and video attached).
