Rojava University denies integration with Al-Furat University

The administration of Rojava University issued a statement regarding media reports about “integration procedures” of its staff into Al-Furat University, following a meeting that recently took place at the Al-Hasakah Governorate building.

The university administration stated:

“The administration of Rojava University categorically denies the circulating reports about ‘procedures to integrate’ its staff into Al-Furat University. It clarifies that the recent meeting held at the Al-Hasakah Governorate building was merely a protocol and introductory visit aimed at discussing the reality of university education and ways to develop it in the region, far from any structural or administrative proposals related to the university.

The administration also affirms that strategic issues related to mechanisms of integration or organizational affiliation are specialized matters that are not discussed in side meetings, but are addressed exclusively with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the relevant official authorities.

The university also renews its commitment to its independent academic calendar and exam schedules approved in advance by its Academic Council, and calls on media outlets to exercise accuracy and obtain information from official sources in order to avoid spreading misinformation that affects educational institutions and their students.”
