DEM Party launches aid campaign for Rojava

The Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party announced today the launch of an urgent campaign to deliver humanitarian assistance to civilians in Rojava, especially in the city of Kobani, amid the severe humanitarian conditions facing the city’s residents, particularly children, as the siege imposed by mercenaries of the Syrian interim government continues.

The statement issued by the DEM Party noted that “the inability of civilians to access basic necessities, and the resulting loss of lives, is extremely distressing,” stressing the need for immediate preventive measures.

The statement explained that the campaign is being organized in cooperation with all municipalities, local councils, and democratic institutions, with all resources being mobilized to meet urgent humanitarian needs. It emphasized that municipalities will carry out their responsibilities to the fullest extent.

The party also called on Turkish authorities and institutions to open humanitarian aid corridors without any obstacles to ensure that aid reaches beneficiaries as quickly as possible.

In addition, the statement appealed to citizens to support the humanitarian aid campaign and strengthen solidarity with civilians in Rojava.

It added that detailed information on the aid campaigns to be launched by municipalities will be shared with the public soon.

Rojava has been subjected in recent days to intense attacks by mercenaries of the Damascus government, ISIS, and the Turkish occupation, alongside a suffocating siege on the city of Kobani. This has led to the loss of most means and essentials of life for civilians, particularly basic materials, medicines, fuel, water, and electricity—an act that, under international law, constitutes “genocide.”
