On a daily basis, the region of North and East Syria is subjected to attacks by the Turkish occupying state using all types of heavy and medium weapons and drones, causing human and material damage. The inhabitants of the region are responding with resistance and determination.

Citizen Ismail Mohammed, a resident of the village of al-Adaniyah in the western countryside of Girê Spi/ Tel Abyad, in the Euphrates canton, said: Our areas are under daily attack by the Turkish occupier. We are on the front lines and close to the bases of occupation. He stated that the Turkish occupying forces' attacks on the area are aimed at displacing its inhabitants, but they are determined to remain in their villages and homes.

Ismail explained that the purpose of the Turkish occupation’s bombing of vital oil wells, power stations, and water installations was to destroy us,” he said. “As we are harvesting our agricultural seasons, they are targeting us in our agricultural lands, striking our food security and driving us to hunger. But they are mistaken, for we are a people of resistance. We stood up to ISIS, and we will resist and defeat them in the face of their plans.”

Ismail stressed that the people of the region were united and in solidarity with their forces, the Syrian Democratic Forces, who are defending the region against the Turkish occupation of Syrian territory.

Hadla Muslim, a resident of the city of Ain Issa, also explained: The Turkish occupation thinks that it can frighten us with its attacks and that we will surrender our land to it, but it is mistaken. We are a resilient people who are committed to defending our land through self-defense.

She noted that Turkey is an occupying and greedy state that consistently aims to destroy Syrian territory. But we are aware of its intentions and plans and will thwart them with our resistance and the support of our defense forces.

Resident Mohammed Habib of the village of Berkh Buttan confirmed that the occupation could not exterminate an entire people and that they were prepared to defend their land at all costs. He pointed out that the attacks of the Turkish occupying state had never ceased; they began with the support of mercenary groups and ISIS, failed to achieve the desired results, and today continue directly through its army.

Resident Amal Baha al-Din said that they had great confidence in their military forces, which had defeated ISIS and others in recent years, and were able, along with the popular struggle, to resist the Turkish occupation and its plans.
