The official of the 7 Days Media Foundation, Subhi Ahmed, stated that their correspondent, Ahmed Shamki, was arrested in Amediya and Shiladzi province four days ago for having uncovered corruption files through an investigation into the sale of a $2,500 portion of the public road in the Shiladzi district, based on a lawsuit filed by the mayor of the Judiciary.

He noted that the authorities had refused to release her on bail and had informed all consulates, international organizations, and press rights centers to work for the safety and release of Shamki.

Shamki's arrest comes at a time when 249 days have passed since the reporter of the Roj News agency, Sulieman Ahmed, was detained by PDK forces. His first trial is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Sunday, about the fabricated charges against him.
