3 killed in clashes between ISIS, Fatmiyoun Brigade in Homs

An attack by ISIS mercenaries on military points belonging to the Fatmiyoun Brigade, east of Homs, led to clashes between the two parties, resulting in deaths and injuries.

SOHR stated that, " Violent clashes erupted between members of “ISIS” cells on the one hand, and members of Afghan Fatmiyoun Brigade militia on the other one, following an attack carried out by “ISIS” on military posts of the militia near the old Palmyra airport and south of Arak field, east of Homs, which resulted in the killing of three members of “ISIS” cells, and the killing of a member and the injuring of another of “Fatmiyoun Brigade” militia, before the withdrawal of “ISIS” members into the Syrian desert."

In this context, Damascus forces and Iranian militias sent large military reinforcements from Deir ez-Zor towards the military locations in the vicinity of Palmyra and Al-Sukhnah areas in the eastern countryside of Homs. The National Defence militia also sent military reinforcements consisting of 25 military vehicles and members towards the region.
