KCK sends condolence telegram to family of journalist Najm al-Din Salaz

On Sunday, the joint presidency of the Executive Council of the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) condolence telegram to the family of revolutionary journalist Najm al-Din Salaz, who passed away yesterday, after a long struggle with liver disease.

The telegram stated:

“We heard the news of the death of our dear revolutionary and patriotic comrade, Najm al-Din Salaz. We and our people were pained to hear the news of his death. Our training comrade Najm al-Din had been suffering from chronic health problems for a long time, but he did not consider this health suffering as an obstacle to his struggle and his journalistic work. His struggled until the moment of his passing. He spent all the moments of his life in the midst of the struggle. He is a dear martyr for this struggle and for Kurdistan. We, as a movement and a people, the main tasks that fall upon us is to preserve the memory of Comrade Najm al-Din is alive and that we continue to fight the struggle for freedom. we renew our pledge that we made to all the revolutionary and democratic martyrs, in the person of Comrade Najm al-Din.

All the moments of his life were serving the cause of Kurdistan's freedom

Our comrade Najm al-Din Salaz, who was closely known by the national people and public opinion in Kurdistan, sacrificed himself. He was a great revolutionary who sacrificed every moment of his life for the freedom of Kurdistan. He also became a struggling individual for the cause, not to mention his combative personality. He wrote many intellectual and literary works, and when one recognizes in his works the truth about him and the history of the Kurdish society in which he struggles, For his freedom, it basically expresses the situation of the Kurdish people and their struggling efforts to get out of it.

Like many revolutionaries, he also played an important role in the national awakening of the Kurdish people. And the beginning of the struggle in the face of oppression. He was arrested after the coup of September 12, 1980 and remained imprisoned in Amed prison, which became a bastion of torture and oppression. There he got to know the cadres of the Kurdish freedom movement, and he continued his struggle inside his prison.

He resented the collusion and betrayal

He came to southern Kurdistan as a result of the pressure exerted against him by the Turkish state and continued his struggle. As is known, he worked in journalism activity in southern Kurdistan under difficult circumstances. In his journalistic works, he shed light on the struggle against the line of treason and collusion, On the other hand, he gave great importance to developing the line of patriotism. All his works included these main points. On the other hand, Comrade Najm al-Din worked with the martyr Sayyid Evran for a long time. He was greatly influenced by the martyrdom of his comrade Sayyid at the time. When his health condition deteriorated as a result of his worsening illness, it was suggested to him that he take a rest for a while and stay away from journalism for a while. We are very sorry for the loss of such a revolutionary fighter and intellectual, and we offer our deepest condolences to the patriotic people of Kurdistan, the people of Van, the family of our dear comrade, the martyr Najm al-Din, and his relatives.
