HAT arrests 2 ISIS leaders

The Anti-Terrorism Forces (HAT), affiliated with the Internal Security Forces of NE Syria, carried out 2 qualitative operations in the northern and eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, during which they were able to arrest 2 ISIS leaders, one of whom was a financial official, according to a statement published by the forces.

The statement revealed details of the operations: "With the support and participation of the coalition, our HAT special forces were able, during the past 2 days, to arrest 2 leaders of the ISIS terrorist organization in the eastern and northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

Within the framework of a series of security operations by our forces to strike the terrorist organizations’ cells and arrest them, and with the support and participation of the international coalition, 2 locations of two ISIS leaders were identified, one of whom was the financial official responsible for financing the organization’s cells with money in order to implement their terrorist plans to target our regions.

The forces also confiscated various machine guns and a group of ammunition.

In its statement, the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria confirmed the continuation of their security operations, pursuing ISIS mercenary cells, and surrounding the region with a state of security and stability.

On August 27, the countryside of Deir ez-Zor witnessed a "Security Enhancement" operation launched by the Syrian Democratic Forces.
