Sit-in tent in Qamishlo initiates to decry leader Ocalan's incommunicado detention

Today, hundreds of people from the city of Qamishlo, its towns and villages went to the sit-in tent that was erected near the March 12 Stadium to denounce the isolation imposed on Leader Abdullah Ocalan, As part of a series of events launched by the Popular Initiative in the Jazera region on September 9, under the slogan (The freedom of the leader Apo guarantees peace in the Middle East), pictures of the leader Abdullah Ocalan were hung in the sit-in tent.

The participants carried pictures of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, while chanting slogans saluting the resistance of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, “There is no life without the leader.”

The member of the Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, Suleiman Ahmed, praised the position of the components of the region against and rejection of isolation, and said: “This position is the only guarantee for breaking the isolation and achieving physical freedom for the leader, and it gives us hope.”

Ahmed highlighted the international conspiracy on October 9: “The international conspiracy that helped the Turkish state aimed to annihilate the roots of the humanitarian revolution espoused by Leader Abdullah Ocalan.”

Ahmed stressed that the Turkish occupation state seeks to exterminate the Kurds: “Through one conspiracy after another, Turkey tried to eliminate the Kurdistan liberation movement and the Kurdish people in the person of the leader, and now the strict isolation in its third year."

Ahmed noted: “This tent brought to mind those days that followed the international conspiracy on February 15, when the people turned into rings of fire and gathered around the leader, who sacrificed his life for us.”

Musa Khalil, the member of the Democratic Society Academy in Qamishlo, confirmed that they are renewing the pledge under the sit-in tent to escalate the struggle for the sake of leader Abdullah Ocalan’s physical freedom.

According to the program of the sit-in tent, the event will continue until tomorrow, Sunday. The first day begins with reading poetry in Arabic and showing a video of a speech by Quint Jansch, the member of the Asr Office and the leader’s lawyer, who will shed light on the system of isolation and torture.

The second day includes a video about isolation and conspiracy, and speeches by human rights activists,

The sit-in tent event will end with a demonstration heading to the United Nations High Commissioner’s building.
