Al-Assad: We will not normalize relations with Turkey without its withdrawal from Syria
Bashar al-Assad assured the Iranian foreign minister that he would not normalize relations with Turkey without the its withdrawal from Syria.
The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Bashar al-Assad received Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abd al-llahiyan in Damascus, to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation between the 2 countries, according to the Iranian “IRNA” agency.
According to the "Syrian Presidency" website, Al-Assad stressed that "the issue of the Turkish withdrawal from the Syrian lands and its inevitability is a necessary condition for the return of normal relations between Damascus and Ankara," noting that the good relationship between Iran and the arab countries contributes to the stability and prosperity of the region.
