AANES  meets delegation from Norwegian Foreign Ministry and Norwegian Red Party

A delegation from the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria discussed with the Norwegian Foreign Ministry the latest developments in North and East Syria. In a related context, the Norwegian Red Party confirmed its support for the Autonomous Administration and its condemnation of the Turkish attacks on the region.

On Friday, August 18, a delegation from the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria met a high-level delegation of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry, at the Foreign Ministry building in the Norwegian capital, Oslo.

The delegation of the Autonomous Administration included the co-chair of the Department of Foreign Relations, Abdul Karim Omar, the representative of the Autonomous Administration in the Scandinavian countries, Shear Ali, and the representative of the Autonomous Administration in Norway Hendrin Butti.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the general situation throughout Syria, and the current situation in NE Syria in particular. 

The joint head of the Department of Foreign Relations , Abdul Karim Omar, explained in a special statement to ANHA agency, that the delegation of the Autonomous Administration put the Norwegian Foreign Ministry in the form of the latest developments and challenges facing the Autonomous Administration, including economic, relief, humanitarian and security

He stressed that the Autonomous Administration delegation informed the Norwegian Foreign Ministry of the need to prosecute ISIS mercenaries, to find a solution to the situation of the mercenaries' families in Al-Hol and Roj camp, and the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities towards this file.

Turkish attacks serve terrorism

In a related context, the Autonomous Administration delegation met, at the Norwegian Parliament building, a delegation from the Norwegian Red Party, which included Norwegian Member of Parliament Sahar Aidar, Eric Fuld, the official in charge of foreign and defense relations, the constitutional committee official, John Brooks, and Melli Natalia Kelly, who is responsible for the refugee and law file.

The delegation of the Autonomous Administration highlighted, during the meeting, the Turkish threats that practice state terrorism against the people of NE Syria, which is exploiting the new crisis between Russia and Ukraine in order to launch a new aggression against NE Syria, especially in Manbij and Tal Rifaat.

He pointed out that he had put the Norwegian Red Party delegation in the form of the repercussions of any possible Turkish attack, and said, "We told them that any new attack would have huge repercussions on the region."

The delegation stressed that any new Turkish attack would serve ISIS and terrorism, and said, "We also touched upon Turkey's attacks through rallies against the people of the region and leaders of the Syrian Democratic Forces that are working with the international coalition forces in the face of ISIS."

He stressed that the delegation of the Norwegian Red Party expressed its support for the Autonomous Administration, and its condemnation of the Turkish attacks that destabilize the security and stability of the region.
