Talaat Younes: Shengal's wall is a dedication to retail policies
Talaat Younes confirms that the construction of the wall between Shengal and NE, Syria came as a result of the fear from the idea of democracy and the brotherhood of peoples.
In interview with ANHA, the co-chair of the Executive Council in the Autonomous Administration, Jazira region, Talaat Younes talked about the wall on the border between Shengal and NE, Syria and its goals.
Younes said : The construction of the wall is a continuation of the policies and mentality of the occupying regimes in Kurdistan, which fight the peoples who struggle for their freedom and strive to be the owner of a free and real will.
During his speech, Younis touched on the brutal attack on the Yazidi community in 2014 by ISIS mercenaries, saying: "The people of Shengal were subjected to massacres, and now they are strengthening their Autonomous Administration to defend their existence against all forms of attacks that aim to exterminate them.
He mentioned to the harmony between the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Democratic Party by saying: "Building the wall is part of the agreements signed between the two governments by Turkish consensus."
On October 9, 2020, the Iraqi government headed by the outgoing Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and the Kurdistan Democratic Party announced that they had reached an agreement regarding Shengal on the pretext of organizing administrative and security matters in it.
Younes affirmed that "the construction aims to besiege Shengal and close all ports in front of its people to defend themselves and protect its own administration."
Younes referred to the Turkish military bases in Başûr and Iraq, saying: "The Turkish occupation state controls the political decision in Iraq, and carries out military attacks on Shengal and the mountains of Kurdistan from the lands of Başûr, amid silence of the Iraqi government.
