During the past week, the Arab newspapers touched on the failure of Turkish efforts to get the green light from Russia and America to launch an attack on NES, in addition to the crisis in Lebanon, in addition to the maneuvering of the Brotherhood's Ennahda movement in Tunisia.

An American stance and Russian messages mixed Turkey's cards

Starting with the Syrian issue, in this context, the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar said: “At a time Turkey's Erdogan was holding a meeting with his American counterpart Joe Biden to get American approval to launch a military operation against the Syrian Democratic Forces, Russia sent direct military messages to Ankara, that this region also falls within the Russian calculations, which seems to be a shuffling of the Turkish cards, and the failure of Erdogan’s attempt to extract a barter that would allow him to reap double gains from both Washington and Moscow.

The newspaper added, "Over the past months, Erdogan has tried to reach a clear agreement with America on several points of contention, most notably obtaining a "green light" to launch a military operation through which Turkey will annex new areas near its southern border with Syria.

According to the newspaper, "The meeting between Erdogan and Biden did not bear clear results about the field map in the areas east of the Euphrates, according to what was leaked from the meeting, as Washington stressed the need for "continuing calm operations". Biden also insisted on the importance of reaching a political solution.

As soon as the Turkish president finished his meeting with his American counterpart, the media leaked the features of a Turkish military plan to launch a ground attack on four axes in northeastern Syria simultaneously, including Tal Rifaat, Manbij, Tal Tamr and Ain Issa.  They are targeted by the Turkish plan, which was leaked by the Syrian opposition media, that they are areas of field complexity, as there are points on their edges where Syrian military forces are stationed, and they are considered areas of Russian influence, which seems to have provoked Moscow, which responded by sending direct messages to Ankara, by  conducting military drills in the Tel Tamer area to send signs that the aforementioned sites are under the control of Russia, and that any agreement with the United States would not authorize Turkey to launch military attacks on it.

The newspaper added, “It is also remarkable about the leaked Turkish plan, that it targets areas through which the M4 international road passes, which extends from the Syrian east to Aleppo, and branches to Latakia, where skirmishes are taking place at the present time to reopen the part that connects Aleppo with the coast, and controls the  a small enclave in which there are extremist factions, and Turkish forces are stationed at a point overlooking it as well, which bears a clear indication of a Turkish desire to set foot on the road in the east of the Euphrates, in return for opening the road in its western branch that passes through Idlib.

The newspaper said, "It seems that Ankara was counting on obtaining field gains that would allow it to nibble new areas in Syria, and push the Kurds away from the borders in the areas east of the Euphrates, which it considers an area of American influence, in conjunction with pressure on Russia in its areas of influence west of the Euphrates, in order to obtain a barter that retreats."  through it Turkey in the Idlib countryside to open the M4 road, in return for its advance towards Manbij and Tal Rifaat, which means, as a result, double gains from both Washington and Moscow, to which the latter responded through its military maneuvers in Tal Tamr, reiterating that it is not possible to separate between  east and west of the Euphrates, and that the Russian presence is strong on both sides.

Lebanon..a diplomatic crisis and a government labyrinth with no horizon

On the Lebanese side, Al-Bayan newspaper said: "So far, the Lebanese interior has not absorbed the shock, which brought the country into a rupture beyond diplomacy. As for the other side of the picture, the race is still fiercest between the attempts of some authorities and the government in Lebanon to find a solution to the crisis that triggered it."  Lebanese Minister of Information George Kordahi.

On his return from Scotland, charged with international support and immunity for his government and its continued responsibility, Prime Minister Najib Mikati made a presidential tour to map a comprehensive solution to get out of the government labyrinth, based on solving the knot of the Minister of Information's resignation.  Boycott is prohibited,” calling on him again to “arbitrate his conscience, take the position that should be taken, and give priority to the national interest.”

In anticipation of what the presidential and political consultations will bear from the escalating or cooling emissions on the flank of the government crisis, Mikati put his position on the table, to save the face of power and re-float the Covenant and his recent government... amid fears that the Gulf boycott of Lebanon will be overtaken by stricter economic measures.

While waiting, information was reported that Mikati had decided to pave the way for Qardahi to submit his resignation, in the sense of securing a specific exit for the resignation, placing it within a positive template aimed at advancing the national interest, and re-emphasizing the government’s keenness and determination to dispel everything that would disturb the relationship with  Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab Gulf states.

The Resignees Party.. Is it a new umbrella for Ennahda in preparation for the aftermath of the dissolution decision?

Regarding the Tunisian issue, Al-Arab newspaper said: “Tunisian political circles drew attention to the coincidence between the announcement by the resigning group of the formation of a new political party after leaving the Ennahda movement and the increasing talk about dissolving the movement based on the report of the Court of Accounts and the insistence of Tunisian President Kais Saied to expedite the implementation of what was  It came from provisions that may end in the dissolution of three parties, including the Renaissance Movement.

These circles did not rule out that seeking to announce a new party in preparation for a new stage might lead to the dissolution of the Ennahda movement due to the Loubing issue, despite its statements that deny any connection to the issue, noting that the movement was known for its ability to maneuver and its readiness for any scenarios that could threaten  its survival.

These circles said that the formation of a new political party with a civilian identity, as announced by some of the resigned leaders, might be a smart way out to get the Ennahda movement out of its legal predicament, if the accusations contained in the Audit Department’s report were proven.  The new partisan umbrella will also help it get out of the dilemma of the history of the Ennahda movement, especially with regard to its accusation of violence and penetration of state institutions and its historically negative stance on legislative gains with a social dimension, which were founded on the Personal Status Code.

Local political observers believe that the wave of resignations that Ennahda witnessed during the past years was not against the party, nor its history, nor its plans for domination and penetration.  The same major trends are possible and acceptable, even from the leaders who continued with Ghannouchi.

In a question to “Al-Arab” about the possibility of dissolving the Ennahda party and the emergence of an alternative party, Tunisian political analyst Munther Thabet said that “going to a new political scene does not necessarily mean that the Ennahda movement will not return under new titles and content.”
