Talabani discusses regional developments with Araghchi

The president of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) met with Iran’s foreign minister in Tehran to discuss political and military developments in the region, with Talabani stressing the importance of peaceful solutions, dialogue and reducing tensions.

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) President Bafel Talabani discussed the latest political developments and military changes in the region during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran.

In a post on X, Talabani said the meeting, attended by a high-level PUK delegation, addressed political and field developments in the region. He stressed that resolving problems requires peaceful means and continued dialogue.

Talabani reaffirmed the PUK’s efforts to promote peace and reduce tensions, noting that the Kurdistan Region respects the security and sovereignty of neighboring countries and shares a deep-rooted common history with the Iranian people.

For his part, Araghchi expressed his appreciation for Talabani’s and the PUK’s role in efforts to safeguard the stability of the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the region as a whole.
