On October 9, 2019, the Turkish occupation launched an attack on the regions of northern and eastern Syria, occupying Serêkaniyê / Ras al-Ain and the city of Girê Spî / Tal Abyad and their countryside.

Two years later, civilians witnessed the most heinous crimes at the hands of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.  from killing, displacement, looting of property and other practices that contradict international laws and norms.  In addition to bringing about a demographic change in it, by housing ISIS families and mercenaries.

Since its occupation of the province, Turkey has forcibly displaced more than 100,000 indigenous people to Raqqa and Tabqa and their countryside, amid difficult living and economic conditions.  While 6,030 IDPs live in Girê Spi camp, which was established by the District Council near the village of Tal Al-Saman in the northern countryside of Raqqa on November 22, 2019.

The Turkish occupier and its mercenaries seized all the properties of the displaced.

Public property was not spared the harm of the Turkish occupier and its mercenaries;  They looted all the crops stored in the canton silos, "the vestibule, the rocks" and others, and transported them to the Turkish interior with the aim of starving the people, in addition to closing dozens of schools, and turning some of them into military bases, "Al-Ali Baglia School, blind", and others, depriving thousands of students.  of education.

Among the practices, bulldozing and looting of several archaeological sites in the canton, including “Al-Dhliz Hill in Suluk district, Sahlan archaeological hill in Khirbet Al-Raz village, and two sites in Hammam Al-Turkman village;  In addition to allowing antiquities thieves to excavate at other sites.

The crimes of the Turkish occupier and its mercenaries against the remained in the occupied territories

With the aim of restricting those who remained in the occupied areas and pushing them to emigrate, the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries continue their crimes against the people there;  Whoever killed, looted property and kidnapped, neither man nor woman in a flagrant violation of the customs and traditions of the people of the region tribal habits.

Where the Turkish occupier army and its mercenaries from time to time kidnap clan elders and dignitaries in the area, our agency has documented, during the past two months, the kidnapping of 9 sheikhs and dignitaries of the Albu Assaf clans in the town of Al-Ali Baglia, including an elderly person and a terminally ill (cancer) patient, in addition to the kidnapping of 7 women from  the town of Hammam al-Turkman in separate periods;  one of them had a 40-day-old baby, and although she sought refuge with one of the sheikhs and dignitaries of the area, she was kidnapped against his will.

Warning of the resurgence of ISIS terrorism in reas occupied by Turkey

Since Turkey occupied Girê Spi province;  it brought with it hundreds of ISIS mercenaries' remnants, who fled to Turkey after their defeat at the hands of the Syrian Democratic Forces. turkey brought them with their families to the occupied canton;  As leaders and members of the mercenary groups that support them, such as Musab Al-Badr who was killed by a gas cylinder explosion, and Al-Bulu, Al-Aqar and other ISIS elements who, before fleeing to Turkey, committed inhumane crimes against the people of the region.

In an interview with our agency with the co-chair of the Girê Spî district council, Hamid al-Abed, he said: "Since its occupation of the canton, has not left a violation except and practiced it against our people in the occupied areas, including killing, displacement, looting of property and others, and all these violations are taking place under the eyes of the whole world, who did not move a finger."

He noted that "the people of the occupied areas did not remain silent about the practices of the occupier and its mercenaries, as they always come out in condemnation of them, and they must always not succumb to such practices, because the occupier will not leave the occupied land except by force."

Al-Abed warned of the resurgence of ISIS from that region, citing what Turkey is doing to fuel this terrorism, by opening Sharia schools under the cover of suspicious Pakistani and Caucasian associations in the occupied areas.

Hamid Al-Abd reminded Al-Alam that ISIS terrorism emerged at its beginning from that area (Suluk district) of the occupied canton after Turkey allowed extremist elements to cross its borders, and provided them with all the necessary weapons and equipment."

The co-chair of the Girê Spi district council called on the international community to put pressure on Turkey to secure the return of the displaced to their occupied cities and villages.

Girê Spî IDPs: We will not forget that our land is usurped and we must defeat the occupier

Through their participation in all events organized by the Girê Spi district council, the displaced prove their denunciation of the Turkish occupier who has committed crimes against their people in the occupied areas, and they always adhere to the right to return to their homes after expelling the occupier from it.

Displaced Fatima al-Mohammed, a resident of Girê Spi camp, said during an interview with our agency: "I have never forgotten that the Turkish occupier and its mercenaries are Syrians who sold themselves and their country for money, they occupied my land and my house."

She added, "Every day I tell my young children that our life in this camp is for a limited time, and that we must - even if it takes a long time - to return to our home."

In turn, the immigrant Ahmed Al-Hassan said that they and those who live with him inside the camp talk daily about their memories in the occupied canton, about returning to it.

And he added: "We got out of it by force of arms and the indiscriminate bombing that affected us while the occupier entered it, but we will spare no effort to return to it and defeat the occupier from it."

Both Fatima and Ahmed called on the international community to intervene and remove the occupier from their land, to ensure their safe return to their cities, villages and sources of livelihood that they lost after the occupation.
