On Saturday, Arab press reported on the Health situation NE, Syria camps

'The emergence of new hotbeds with COVID 19 in camps in northern and eastern Syria ':

Beginning with Syria, in this context, the Middle East newspaper said: "Three positive infections were recorded yesterday in the overcrowded Al-Hol camp, which suffers from catastrophic humanitarian and health conditions, bringing the cases to six since the beginning of this month, at a time when Save the Children International recorded 46 cases in displaced camps in three camps in Al-Hasakah Governorate.

In a report published on its official account, first yesterday, the organization warned of a critical situation in these three camps as cases rose.

These new figures are very disturbing. If this surge continues, it will be only a matter of time before hospitals and isolation facilities that already have very limited capacity are flooded," said Sonia Kosh, Director of the organization in a press release. She was particularly concerned about the impact of the recent increase on children.

The administration of Al-Hol Camp and Kurdish Red Crescent warned of a catastrophic situation in the outbreak of pandemic among its residents, which houses more than 62 thousand, while the number of cases in Roj Camp has reached only 28 cases since the beginning of this April, while the number of cases in Arisha Camp reached to 15, and these three camps are existed in NE, Syria.

Yesterday, the Autonomous Administration Health Authority recorded five deaths and 220 new Corona virus infections in northeastern Syria.

Dr. Joan Mustafa confirmed that areas of northern and eastern Syria are mainly suffering from severe shortages of health and medical equipment, and attributed the reason for the closure of the Yarrabiya crossing with a Russian-Chinese veto early last year, which poses a double threat posed by the spread of the Corona virus.

He said: "We fear the inability to contain the spread of the pandemic, owing to the fragility of health-care systems because many hospitals are out of service, and the absence of health facilities at points and clinics that provide services to the infected and sick."

Save the Children expressed concern that the cases may exceed the real number declared, given the limited testing facilities available in the camps.

Sonia Kosh pointed out that most of the reported cases "were from mothers, and some of them were transferred to isolation centers."

The organization called on international and Western governments to intensify their efforts and do their duty to return families detained in camps under the harsh conditions of the Corona pandemic.

Koch explained that the organization's teams had suspended many services and activities in the three camps, "such as awareness sessions for mothers, play spaces for children, pre-school education, as well as support for the individual protection of children at risk in Roj and Al-Hol camps, and individual nutrition consultations in Al-Hol camp."

AANES confirmed that Al-Hol Camp was experiencing a catastrophic situation due to lack of awareness and prevention tools of the Corona virus, and warned of catastrophic explosion." There is a fear that the virus may has spread among those reviewing the Health Centers in the camp, but so far no infections have been recorded among its residents other than three that have recently emerged."
