Pro Istanbul Convention demonstrations held in Istanbul

Turkish women continue to show their protest against the withdrawal decision made by Erdogan from the Istanbul Convention as calls were made to reverse the decision made.

On Friday, a group of women protested against the decision taken by Erdogan calling for the reverse of the decision, according to opponent Sozjo website.  

According to the website in question, banners read '' Istanbul Convention is Ours, we Will not Give Up'' that were posted in a number of quarters in Istanbul such as Galate Bridge and Galate Tower.

On March 20th, 2021, Turkey withdrew from the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence, better known as the Istanbul Convention, which is a human rights treaty of the Council of Europe against violence against women and domestic violence which was opened for signature on 11 May 2011, in Istanbul.
