Officer in an International Coalition: Our presence here to support Washokani camp, other camps
Officer Arn in the International Coalition Forces said that their presence in Washokani camp is a step to support the camp and other camps, and said, "It is very important to know that the United States and the international community will not forget the displaced people of Washokani camp and other camps."
On Tuesday, a delegation from the Civil Affairs Team in the International Coalition Forces, accompanied by a delegation from the Syrian Democratic Forces, visited Washokani camp to provide assistance to them and meet their needs.
The delegation, which included Officer Arn and Corporal Peter, who belong to the civil affairs team within the International Coalition Forces in the city of al-Hasakah, was received by the co-presidency of the camp, Estera Rashk and Abdul Hamid Hammoud, and the co-chair of the camp council, Alaa Jamil al-Ali, and the administration of the Internal Security Forces in the camp, Shamsa Samou.
During their meeting, a discussion took place between the delegation and the camp administration, as the administration of the Internal Security Forces in the camp, Shamsa Samou, explained the obstacles they face within the camp in terms of the security section and the protection of the displaced in particular.
Shamsa explained during her interview that the camp is located near the Tal Tamr area on the frontline, and they have fears that strangers may enter the night illegally, as it is only protected by a fence.
Shamsa Samou called on the International Coalition to provide the necessary technologies within the camp, such as night surveillance cameras, lighting and generators.
The co-chair of the camp council, Alaa Jamil al-Ali, noted during his speech that they are suffering from the increase in the number of displaced people and the small areas of schools within the camp, calling for expanding their area and establishing schools, hospitals and clinics in the camp.
After completing the meeting, the International Coalition Forces delegation delivered assistance to the camp administration, which included 600 blankets.
While the officer, Arn, during his statement to the media and public opinion, pointed out that their presence today is to support Washokani camp, and said, "We hope that our presence will benefit the camp and its refugees, and be a step to support other camps in the region."
The officer thanked the camp administration and the attendees, and continued, "We want to reinforce the idea that the United States Army is not only here to support the camps, but rather the Autonomous Administration, as it is also the one who supports these camps, and it is very important to know that the United States and the international community will not forget the displaced of Washokani camp and other camps. "
In the press conference, the co-chair of the camp council, Alaa Jamil al-Ali, stated that a delegation of civil affairs within the International Coalition Forces visited the camp, and said that during their meeting they discussed several matters related to the camp and its humanitarian, service and health conditions, chiefly the liberation of their areas from the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.
He explained that the delegation will meet their demands and provide the necessary needs for the camp in the coming days, according to the capabilities.
