Women Protection Units (YPJ) in Tal Hamis sub-district of Qamishlo canton celebrated International Women's Day, while the Internal Security Forces - Women celebrated in Jaabar Castle in Tabqa city.

The Units celebration on the occasion of International Women's Day, in the cultural center of the sub-district.

The celebration began with a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs of freedom, then the fighters gave a theatrical performance on the role of women in protecting homeland side by side with men. This was followed by holding the Dabkeh rings on the beat of Arabic and Kurdish songs.

On the sidelines of the celebration, the fighter in the Syrian Democratic Forces, Ronahi Afrin, blessed the Day for female fighters and leader Ocalan, and for every Arab woman and mothers of martyrs.

She emphasized that this day is sacred and it revived the history of women and guaranteed their freedom.

As for the fighter Kurdistan Rojava, she vowed to continue the resistance and defend the freedom of women until the last breath.

Celebration of the Internal Security Forces - Women in Tabqa

As part of the March 8 activities, International Women's Day, the Internal Security Forces - Women, today, celebrated in the Jaabar Castle in the city of Tabqa.

The celebration, in which members of the Internal Security Forces - Women in Tabqa and Raqqa and its countryside, and representatives of civil institutions participated, began with a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs.

Then a speech on behalf of the Internal Committee in Raqqa was delivered, congratulating all the women and fighters of them in the military forces, in particular, on the eighth of March.

The celebration included several lyrical and folkloric performances presented by the artist Yasmine Mohamed from Tabqa, Menna Allah from Al-Raqqa, and the artist Hedyat from the Jamil Hor Center in Aleppo.

It is noteworthy that it is the second celebration of the Internal Security Forces - women in Tabqa, on this occasion after the city was liberated from ISIS mercenaries since 2017.
