Iraqi media said that late on Sunday evening, missile strikes targeted areas near Baghdad International Airport.

An Iraqi security source reported to al-Sumaria, late on Sunday evening, that two rockets had fallen near Baghdad International Airport, and said that "two rockets fell today, which was near to Baghdad International Airport, without indicating any other details.

Last Monday, 5 people were killed and others were wounded, after a Katyusha rocket landed on a house in al-Radwaniyah area, near Baghdad Airport.

Earlier, Washington threatened to close its embassy in Baghdad due to the inability of the Iraqi government to secure its surroundings and the operating mission from those attacks.
