Iran cancels flights to Turkey and Iraq

The official Iranian agency "IRNA" said in a statement that the national company confirmed that "after a few days of resuming flights of Iranian companies to Turkey, the suspension of these flights will be announced again."

According to the agency, the reasons for this decision come within the preventive measures and instructions to combat the emerging coronavirus pandemic, "Covid 19".

While the head of the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization, Touraj Dehghani, Zangeneh, announced that the licenses for Iraqi Airways flights had been canceled from October 4 until further notice, according to what was reported by the Iranian "Fars News" agency.

Zangeneh claimed that the reason behind revoking the licenses is that the airline committed a violation after transporting passengers with visas from one of the companies, at a time when there is an agreement between Tehran and Baghdad to limit the transfer of airlines to diplomats and citizens of the two countries who are only residing.

In the same context, Iran imposed a partial lockdown for a week in the capital, Tehran, which is witnessing a marked increase in infections with the emerging coronavirus, "Covid-19".

And the spokeswoman for the Iranian Ministry of Health, Sima Sadat Larry, announced at a press conference on Sunday, that 3,653 new cases of the virus had been recorded during the past 24 hours. This exceeds the total number of infections recorded in the country 471,772 cases, including 4,154 cases in critical condition.

Iran had resumed economic activities and lifted restrictions on movement on April 11 of this year, in all provinces with the exception of Tehran, which began easing a week after the provinces, but it continued to prevent the wedding and condolence ceremonies until further notice due to the threat of an outbreak of the new coronavirus through it.
