Tunisia thwarts a "Corona terrorist" plot amongst security men

The Tunisian Ministry of the Interior said in a statement that the Anti-Terrorism Administration was able to thwart the terrorist plot of one of the "obscurantist" elements aimed at spreading the Covid-19 virus among the security forces in Kebili Governorate.

The ministry indicated that the suspect exploited his moral authority over the other penitential elements in the region, especially those who hold the symptoms of the new Corona virus in order to incite them to intentionally sneeze, cough and spread spit everywhere, while they are inside the security unit where they perform administrative control procedures with the aim of "infecting security men ".

The security forces interrogated one of the "obscurantist” elements who were incited to confess that he received such instructions and was unable to implement that due to the preventive measures taken by the security forces.

Tunisia, like other countries, is fighting Corona pandemic, with about 780 people infected and 35 deaths recorded.

On Monday, the instigator was arrested, and the security authorities kept the second component of the compulsory quarantine pending the completion of the tests that indicate that he was infected with the virus.

The Ministry of Interior indicated that the arrested person was imprisoned in the past, after his involvement in a judicial case "with a terrorist nature".
