In light of the spread of the Corona virus around the world and its preoccupation with it, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries seize the opportunity to increase their targeting and bombardment of the displaced Afrin residing in the villages of Sherawa district, which constitutes a double threat to the lives of the people, on the one hand they are obliged to adhere to quarantine to confront the Corona, and on the other hand they fear that the bombing lead to the demolition of homes over their heads.

Stuck Between a rock and hard place as they face the danger of Corona and the Turkish occupation shells, the displaced people of Afrin live between life and the death that befell them, as during the month of April, Turkish occupation army shelled more than 400 mortars and heavy artillery shells in the villages of Sherawa district and the area of the overcrowded displacement camps for the people, including the villages of Akiba, Soghanaka and Binah, Ziyara and Deir Jamal.

The recent brutal shelling of the Turkish occupation resulted in the injury of Mahmoud Seydou living in the village of Akiba, the death of a member of the Syrian government forces and the injury of another, in addition to major damage to the property of civilians.

While the Autonomous Administration in the region is seeking with all its capabilities to implement the curfew and remove the danger of the Corona pandemic, the Turkish occupation is deliberately targeting civilians to force them to leave their homes and gather in one place.

In this context, a number of displaced persons in Afrin spoke to Hawar News Agency, citizen Fatima Hammouche said: “We live in Al-Awda camp in Ziyara village, facing the danger of Corona and the shells of the Turkish occupation army, and we do not know how our fate and the fate of our children will be where the danger of death threatens us every day.”

For her part, citizenship Avin Osu appealed to international organizations and the World Health Organization to intervene and stop violations of the Turkish occupation against the people in Sherawa district, in light of the United Nations call for a ceasefire in Syria.

As for the citizen Sido Ibish, he pointed out that due to the lack of consensus between the Turkish occupation and Russia on the Idlib file, the Turkish occupation retaliates by targeting the people of Afrin in Sherawa district and Al-Shahba district.

The question remains, what is the fate of the displaced people of Afrin in light of the international silence towards what they are exposed to from Turkish violations on the one hand and the threat of the Corona pandemic on the other hand?
