Public outrage in Egypt over refusal to bury doctor

The refusal of Shubra al-Bahu village in Egypt's Daqahliya province to bury a doctor with Corona caused public outrage inside Egypt on social media, with a large number of politicians, intellectuals and artists describing it as a "disgrace"

The incident was due to the gathering of villagers and their stampede to refuse to bury the body of a doctor died of the new coronavirus, and the security forces and a number of health department officials tried to convince the residents that there was no danger of burying the body, but they insisted on not burying it, and demanded that it be buried in the nearby village of Met al-Amel.

Residents stood in front of the ambulance and refused to take it off from the car as a result clashes broke out between residents and security forces, and police fired tear gas to disperse the residents, until the body was buried.

Security forces in Daqahliya arrested 22 people from Shubra al-Bahu Frick, adjacent to Aja center, after they had gathered and objected to the burial of the body of a doctor infected with Corona.
