Four US officials told Reuters: The US decision to suspend the program came in response to the Turkish military incursion across the Turkish border into northern and eastern Syria in October, and revealed the extent of damage to relations between NATO allies from the attack.

US officials, who requested anonymity, said that late last year the United States stopped sending intelligence-gathering missions.

In turn, a Turkish official confirmed to the agency that the program was stopped.
