U.S. Defense Secretary, Mark Esper, said the United States is working with Iraq to deploy the Patriot air defense system after the Iranian blow on the Iraqi military bases where U.S. forces are stationed.

"We have to get the permission of the government of the host country, Iraq," Esper told reporters in response to a question about why these weapons were not deployed in Iraq after the Iranian bombing.

"We are working with the Iraqi government on this matter," General Mark Milley, the head of the U.S. Armed Forces’ chiefs of staff said.

According to him, it is necessary to work to resolve some of the logistic issues for the potential supply of Patriot to the country.
