Tel Rifat Council denounced Turkish occupation’s massacres against children

Tel Rifat District Council in al-Shahba canton issued a statement to the international public opinion to condemn the violations committed by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries against the civilians, displaced and children in Tel Rifat.

Dozens of Tel Rifat district residents, the displaced persons of Afrin, the members of Tel Rifat District Council and Afrin Council in Tel Rifat gathered in the place of the shell that caused the martyrdom of a child less than five years old and the injury of another on Wednesday, and the gathered raised the pictures of Tel Rifat massacre that took place on 02-12-2019, in which 10 civilians left as victims, including 8 children by the bombing of the Turkish occupation.

The statement was read by the member of Tel Rifat District Council Abdullah Bahloul: “In the name of Tel Rifat and Afrin Councils and residents residing with all components in Tel Rifat district, we condemn and denounce in the strongest terms the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries’ barbaric violations and the massacres committed against the innocent children after their occupation of the Syrian north. This is the second massacre targeting our children in a period less than two months in Tel Rifat district.

The massacre took place on Wednesday 29/02/2020 which left a child victim and injured another was added to the war crimes record committed by the Turkish state against the Syrian people.

These criminal terrorist acts take place and are repeated amid international silence, led by the United Nations and the Human Rights and Childhood Organization.

We, the people of Tel Rifat with its various components, including residents and displaced people, challenge the difficulties and will remain steadfast in the face of all Turkish colonial plans because the goal of the Turkish occupier is to intimidate the people to empty the region of the population to pass its Ottoman project.

These shells targeting the Tal Rifaat side do not distinguish between the Kurdish and the Arab, but rather the unity of the class that exists among all the components residing in the area of Tal Rifaat, as well as targeting the brotherhood of the peoples and the coexistence of the people.

The collapse and defeat of the Ottoman project that exploits the crisis of the Syrian people to pass the Milli Ottoman covenant and its fall in Idlib, which was the fortress of mercenaries and terrorists and their supporters, was expressing their anger and emptying their hatred that bombed populated areas in the villages of the Shahba regions.

We call on the international community led by the United Nations and human rights organizations to break their silence and take positions towards the genocides committed against our people in the Syrian north in general and in Afrin and al-Shahba in particular to put pressure on the Turkish state to get out of our occupied lands and take legal and judicial measures for holding the war criminals accountability in accordance with the international law. We also call for the Syrian state to take bold and historic positions to find a Syrian-Syrian solution with the Autonomous Administration, making the Syrian people to avoid these conspiracies that target the existence of the Syrian people and Syria’s territorial integrity.

The statement ended with chanting the slogans that glorify the martyrs and salute the Age and Dignity Resistance.
