Demo in Sherawa denounced isolation on Ocalan
Under the slogan “With Afrin Youths’ Spirit, We Will Break Isolation on Leader Ocalan in Imrali,” the youths of Sherawa district in Afrin canton held a demonstration with torches.
On Friday, the Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement in Sherawa district of Afrin canton organized a demonstration with torches to denounce the isolation imposed on the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan in Ziyara village.
Dozens of youths from the Revolutionary Youth Movement participated in the demonstration, raising the flags of the Revolutionary Youth Movement, the pictures of the leader Abdullah Ocalan and the torches.
The demonstration started from the entrance of Ziyara village, amid chanting the slogans that condemned the isolation, and called for Ocalan’s freedom, reaching to the village’s square.
There, the protesters held a minute of silence, and that was followed by reading a statement in the name of the Youth in Sherawa by the Movement's member Fatima Mohammed.
The statement said, “The isolation imposed on the leader of the Kurdish people, Abdullah Ocalan is isolation on all humanity, and want to obliterate the freedom of the peoples who believe in peace, security, democracy. Since 2011 until the present day, the Turkish fascism imposes a strict isolation on the leader Ocalan in Imrali Island prison.
We condemn and denounce this isolation and the practices of the Turkish state against the leader Abdullah Ocalan.
We, the Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement in Afrin, confirm that we follow the footsteps of the martyrs, and the approach of the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan till the last drop of our blood until liberating our land, breaking the isolation on the leader, and obtaining his freedom.”
The demonstration ended with chanting slogans demanding the freedom of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and denouncing the Turkish occupation of Afrin and North and East Syria.
