Thalassemia has spread among al-Raqqa children , Health Committee provides treatment free

Every day, the Bank is witnessing satisfactory cases of 15 to 20 cases among all ages,The number of blood bags transferred 1,400 blood bags to be the total number in al-Raqqa city and countryside 251 cases, according to the center of the blood bank, where the treatment is provided free.

There are incurable cases that are difficult to treat, and their cost is so high that the family of the injured person can not transfer them to an outpatient hospital where there are sophisticated special equipment, which causes death.

The Administrator to section of Thalassemia in the Blood Bank Center Abdulkader al-Khalaf spoke: "Since the establishment of the center and we are receiving every day a large number of people with Thalassemia, and our role and our humanitarian duty we seek with everything we have to provide treatment for patients who are suffering from this disease."

"We work in cooperation with the Kurdish Red Crescent Organization to carry out the necessary tests to determine what type of disease the child is suffering, because there are three types of Thalassemia major, minor and moderate, and also we receive a number of  the people donate blood every day."
