Kurdish Leftist: America's position towards Kurdish leaders is worrisome

The political bureau of the Kurdish leftist party in Syria issued on Thursday a statement to the world public opinion denouncing the position of the US on the leaders of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) Murad Qarah Yelan, Jamil Baik and Duran Kalkan, and demanded them to not be dragged behind the blackmail and Turkish deals.

The text of the statement included,

Since a while, the Turkish President Erdogan has been threatening to launch attacks on the eastern areas of the Euphrates under the pretext of securing the borders of southern Turkey and preventing the People Protection Units (YPG) from threatening their national security by establishing a Kurdish entity. In this context, Turkey launched a series of attacks on rural areas of Kobanî, Girê Spî and al-Jazeera, and caused the loss of lives and property in those areas.

The attacks came after two important events. The first was that the People Protection Units had inflicted heavy blows to the last pocket of IS in Hajin in the eastern part of the Euphrates River which led Turkey to launch the attacks to ease the attack on its IS allies, while the second incident is the establishment of the Autonomous  Administration in north and east of Syria and its center Ain Issa, which unites and coordinates the work of Autonomous Administration in the areas of Manbij, Kobanî, Girê Spî, al-Tabqa, al-Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor and al-Jazeera.  

After the intervention of the Autonomous Administration and the cessation of its campaign in Hajin area to devote itself to confront the Turkish aggression, the International Alliance led by US conducted joint patrols with the Syrian Democratic Forces in the Syrian areas adjacent to the Turkish border in Kobanî, Girê Spî, Serê Kaniyê, ed-Dirbasia and others which considered as a warning to Turkey to stop its aggressions.

After the Turkish-American meetings, various media outlets reported that the US was allocating financial rewards to those who provided information about the commanders of the PKK and KCK, Murad Qara Yelan, Jamil Baik and Duran Kalakan.

Although the US declared at the same time that it would maintain the security of the north and east of Syria; the areas of the Autonomous Administration, its position on these leaders is worrisome because the mentioned commanders lead the struggle of their Kurdish people, and never attacked or harmed any side in the world.

We, in the Leftist Kurdish Party in Syria, demand the US to fulfill its obligations to fight and defend the areas of Rojava in Kurdistan, north and east of Syria. We also demand a clarification of its positions and to not dragged behind the blackmail and Turkish deals and deter its attacks on North and East Syria, and we denounce its position about the leaders Qarah Yalan, Baik and Kalkan," he said.
