Observatory: 65 mercenaries killed in SDF, Global Coalition operations

Sources reported that IS mercenaries have suffered from heavy losses over the past few days as at least 65 mercenaries have been killed by joint operations carried out by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the International Alliance.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has confirmed the killing of at least 65 mercenaries in their final pocket in Syria despite the cessation of the attack launched by SDF.

The Syrian Democratic Forces announced the cessation of the offensive operations in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor last week after the Turkish attacks has been carried out on the areas of North and East Syria.

But the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that attacks with air raids since Monday have killed 48 militants, including during two attacks of IS on oil fields north of Hajin area.

On Tuesday, IS launched an attack on Azraq oil field, followed by an attack launched on Wednesday on Tenek oil field.

The Observatory said that SDF killed 17 other mercenaries from IS while they were defending a base in al-Bahra village.

The spokesperson for the Syrian Democratic Forces Kino Gabriel said that the cessation of the offensive operations does not mean that the fighters of SDF will not defend themselves.
