Amina Omar: Turkey tries to prolong IS' life, inter community must express its open position

During a meeting conducted by Hawar news agency (ANHA) with the co-chair of the Syria Democratic Council (SDC) Amina Omar to talk about the recent attacks on the eastern of the Euphrates by the Turkish state, the co-chair Amina Omar condemned the attacks on some areas in the Euphrates region and said, "The international community must clarify its position frankly towards the attacks on the areas liberated from IS."

Amina pointed out that the Turkish state's attacks on the areas of east of the Euphrates are not new, but this time coincided with the end of the Quartet summit in Istanbul which apparently gave the green light to Turkey for this aggression.

She noted that the attacks coincided with the final phase of the campaign to eliminate Daesh, led by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) with the International Coalition, this is proof that the Turkish state wants to prolong the life of IS by turning the eyes of the troops who are fighting terrorism to open other fronts with them.

Amina added, "The Turkish state has benefited from the conflict taking place on the Syrian soil through its support to the mercenaries and it occupied areas of Syria; Idlib, al-Bab, Jarabolos, Afrin and others, taking advantage of these mercenaries so it does not want to see a project such as the democratic nation to be effective in resolving the crises and spreading stability in Syria and it is always trying to create chaos and tension in an attempt to thwart this project and to undermine the security and stability witnessed in these areas that were liberated from IS."

Amina Omar called on the international community to put pressure on Turkey to stop these attacks and to express a decisive position, and said, "Expressing concern is not enough. We need a clear attitude and serious action to stop these attacks."

At the end of her speech, the co-chair stressed that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) undertake their responsibility to protect the area and expressed their readiness to respond to any aggression on the ground and they will repel those who are trying to undermine the security of the area.
