Arisha camp ... Between winter's horrors, orgs' inaction

The winter is coming and the displaced in Arisha camp, 30 km south of al-Hasaka city of al-Jazeera, are not prepared to receive it because the organizations have not provided them with any form of assistance despite repeated appeals in light of the increasing number of the displaced people inside the camp.

The displaced Mona Mari al-Hassoun of Deir ez-Zor noted ,"we have many demands, but our basic demand is to renew the tents because they are worn-out and will not be suitable for the winter."

Mona al-Hassoun asked all organizations to provide winter needs such as clothing, heaters and diesel fuel.

While the displaced Ayad Hassoun al-Hussein from Deir ez-Zor’s Kariya region said, "the winter came and we do not have winter clothes to wear, our children got sick and there are no services from the organizations. We sometimes try to sell our belongings at home to bring food and cylinders."

Khadija Saleh al-Khalaf said ,"our tents are not suitable for winter, and when the rain falls, the water leaks into the tent. We hope to provide the winter needs, such as blankets, and new tents, because the winter is harsh and we will not withstand the cold without these needs."

It is worth mentioning that the Democratic Autonomous Administration opened Arisha camp on June 1, 2017. The camp received displaced persons from the Deir ez-Zor area, and their  number is estimated about 10,000 displaced persons.
