Communes provide services to Sherawa villages

The occupation army of Turkey has not been able to occupy several villages in Sherawa district in Afrin canton  such as "Gundi Mazen, Bashmara, Kalotah, Burj al-Qas ,Zernait and Maysa" located southeast of the city of Afrin, but the Turkish occupation does not let the people in these villages run their lives in normal way.

Since the occupation of the villages of Burj Haidar, Brad, Qabbashin, Kafr Nebo and Basofan, the services do not reach these villages, and the occupation bombards them from time to time, recently, they have shelled the homes of the people in Burj al-Qas village.

Another reason for the lack of access to these villages is the presence of barriers to the Syrian regime between al-Shahba canton and Sherawa district's villages

Burj al-Qas village is considered one of the largest villages in Sherawa, now includes dozens of families forcibly displaced by the seizure of their property by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries. Families live on the supplies that they have been brought with them from their homes.

The people of these villages provide bread from the city of Nobel, which is located nearby, where they buy the bundle, which contains 14 loaves for 200 SY pounds.

In spite of the difficulties, the communes in these villages try to provide services. Communes of the villages of Gundi Mazen, Kuluta, Zarnait and Maysa managed to secure electricity generators and distributed one ampere to each house.

In addition, residents provide drinking water from the wells they dug earlier. The communes also opened in coordination with the Kurdish Red Crescent, a clinic in the villages mentioned, in order to provide health services for the people free of charge.

The citizen whose name is Aziz Nabo, from the village of Kimar, lives in these villages, asked humanitarian organizations to provide winter assistance and supplies  "As winter season is approaching and the demands of everyday life are increasing. There is no winter blankets. When we came here, we did not have anything. The commune has granted us some stuff, but this does not suffice."

The Co-chairman of the village of Burj al-Qas village, Haider Nasro said that they are distributing aid according to their potential, he added  "however, it is not enough, the aid does not reach us from al-Shahba canton, because there are checkpoints to the Syrian regime, but we are still working to provide services to the people."
