Macron threatened to launch new strikes against Syrian regime if chemical used

The French President Emmanuel Macron touched on the triangular military strikes launched by the United States, France and Britain on sites of the Syrian regime in April this year after a chemical weapons attack on Douma town in the Eastern al-Gouta of Damascus.

The French president said, "We will continue to act this way if we record new confirmed cases of the use of the chemical."

Regarding the situation of Idlib, the French president expressed his fears of the possibility of breaking out a humanitarian crisis in Idlib governorate if the regime forces would launch a military campaign against the mercenary gangs that belong to Turkey in the governorate.

Macron expected that Russia and Turkey will intensify pressure on the Syrian regime to avoid this scenario, and pointed out that Damascus does not show any desire to negotiate with the militants.

On the issue of power in Syria, Macron declared that no country must dictate to the Syrians about whoever would govern them, stressing that the international community must create conditions for the Syrian people to shape their own future.

Macron pointed out that he did not insist on the departure of al-Assad in return for the delivery of humanitarian aid to Syria, adding at the same time that the existence of the President Bashar al-Assad in power would be, as he believes, a mistake.

Recently, the talk about Idlib has increased. Idlib that is controlled by the mercenary gangs that belong to Turkey, especially al-Nusra (al-Qaeda branch in the Levant) which controls about 60% of the governorate, and the Russian-Turkish agreements to merge Jabhet al-Nusra with the other mercenary gangs in Idlib to avoid any military operation.

The forces of the regime continue to send military reinforcements to the triangle of (al-Ghab Plain, Jisr al-Shughur and the northern countryside of Latakia) in preparation for launching a military operation against the mercenaries in Idlib.
