Koabnis complain about war's remnants, municipality responds

A number of Kobani residents complain about the problem of the ruins of destroyed buildings and the remnants of war on both sides of one of the roads in the eastern entrance to the city, which causes several problems, while the municipality revealed the cause of the problem and the date of its resolution.

Kaniya Kurdan neighborhood 's people have recently escalated complaining about the presence of war's remnants and the rubble of buildings destroyed which were thrown by civilians on both sides of the main road east of Kobani is known Dawood hamlet.

This road is about 15 villages lie east of Kobani city.

At the same time, motorists suffer from the poor road in which there is a lot of digging and this is an obstacle in many cases, the most important cases of ambulance patients where people face difficulty in access to hospitals faster.

Kobani city was exposed to a fierce war during an attack by IS on the city in late 2014 and early 2015, causing massive destruction to civilians homes after more than three years of war, the people are still suffering from the remnants of war.

Kaniya Kurdan neighborhood 's people in Kobani city demand from the People's Municipality to remove the ruins of war from both sides of the road, and say that its presence is a real problem.

Muhi al-Din Ali, a resident of the road, says that "the People's Assembly must undertake duty to the fullest in cleaning the city of remnants of war and the ruins of destroyed buildings."

Muhi al-Din appealed to the municipality to remove the rubble, which he said "threatens the lives of the people, especially in the summer," and also called for the municipality to decorate and repair the road as one of the main entrances to Kobani city."

Ismail Rasho, a citizen said, "The rubble of the remnants of war on both sides of the road has an impact on passers-by, turning into hiding place for the scorpions and snakes that threaten the lives of the people.”

In this context, the Co-chair of the People's Assembly in the city of Kobani Roshan Abdi said that the reason for the municipality's delay in removing the remnants of war on both sides of the "Dawood hamlet is due to the municipality's concern with the project of asphalt road in the city of Kobani."

Roshan Abdi explained that the municipality will remove the waste thrown by the people on both sides of the road after the completion of the project asphalt road.
