Deir ez-Zor refugees: Theft, death awaits whoever returns home!

In the random camps in the northern countryside of al-Raqqa, thousands of displaced families from various Syrian cities, especially Deir ez-Zor city constitute the absolute majority in these camps.

The displaced chose the fields and the agricultural areas to build their tents for the availability of jobs and the abundance of water or to get some jobs in agricultural fields and others, which may help them work to meet their daily requirements.

This is the fate of those who think of returning!

During a tour of Hawar news agency (ANHA) correspondents through the random camps in the northern countryside of al-Raqqa, where thousands of displaced people from various Syrian cities, mostly from Deir ez-Zor city and its villages, decided to stay there despite the expulsion IS from their areas, the correspondents met with Deir ez-Zor refugees. The question was: Why are you here?

The displaced Ahmad Kamal al-Ali from al-Ashara district  in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor said, " We have been displaced from our homes for almost a year, and we have chosen to live here because the area is safer than our areas, and we can get job opportunities to meet our children's food. The main reasons that prevent the return of our homes are high prices, The main reasons that prevent the return to our homes high prices and lack of security there."

The displaced person, Badawi al-Sulaiman from al-Ashara district  in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, went to his home to look into the situation and inspect his house in preparation for returning to it. He found it empty even from the electricity wires that were "buried within the walls."

During his stay there for days, the displaced described the situation in which the people lived. "There are widespread robberies there by armed men who do not know their dependencies. They take what appeals to them by force without any supervision or accountability from anyone."

The displaced appealed to humanitarian organizations and concerned parties to look into their situation and provide assistance and aid them, and stressed the need to replace their tents, which have been worn for nearly a year and faded due to the sun and the weather before winter season comes.

About 700 families from Deri ez-Zor countryside are living in al-Rajm al-Abyad in the countryside of al-Raqqa .Their tents are scattered randomly in the village and surrounding agricultural fields.
