Nawaf: 15th August was ideological, cultural, social revolution

On 15 August, 1984, the first armed military operation was launched against the Turkish occupation in ​​Dahi district of Sêrt and in Şemzînan district of ​​Colemêrg in Bakur Kurdistan led by the commander and struggler Masoum Kurkmaz (Agid) to be the start of the armed revolution against oppression, national melting and genocide policies practiced by the Turkish state at that time. The 15th August Launch which entered its 34th anniversary turned the resistance into a revolution and uprising, and sparked a revolution of mentality. It was launched under the leadership of the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan. It also opened a new chapter in the history of Kurdistan and achieved historic victories. The Kurdish people consider the 15th August Launch as a day of resurrection as it contributed to the resurgence of the Kurdish people again.

In conjunction with the anniversary of the 15th August Launch, ANHA agency held a meeting with the Kurdish intellectual Bashir Mulla Nawaf to talk about this anniversary and the changes that have been made at various social and cultural levels.

Bashir Mulla Nawaf said, "The 15th August Launch, the anniversary of the launch of the first bullet is not only the anniversary of the start of the armed struggle, but its ideological, cultural and social aspects and the achievement of the women and humanity revolution must be considered. The 15th August Lunch is at the same time the first bullet to defeat the Turkish army and the fascist regime ".

'The 15th August launch is a miracle for the Middle East'

Bashir Mulla Nawaf pointed out that the 15th August Leap was a revolution against slavery, the state of fate acceptance and the inevitable fate and against oppression. Bashir Mulla Nawaf said, "The 15th August Launch awakened the Kurds from their slumber. The enemy was seeking, through its power and force, to exterminate the Kurdish people. The Turkish fascism set the goal of eliminating the Kurdish people never ever so this launch under these circumstances and within the efforts of the Turkish fascist state was a miracle in the Middle East. The declaration of the war amid the silence applied to the people was similar to the decisive decision to escalate the struggle against imperialism.”

'It stirred up life in the spirit of all components'

Bashir Mullah Nawaf added, "The August 15th Launch was not a retaliatory step, but was carried out according to a well-thought-out scientific and social approach. The great goal was to change the social mentality and to move from slavery to freedom. This launch was a resurrection of spirit to all the components. It gave them the boldness, rebellion, struggle and belonging.”  

"The people of Kurdistan celebrate this anniversary every year in all parts of Kurdistan, the memory of this day has become a theme for songs and hymns," Mulla Nawaf said.

'The gains of Rojava revolution is an extension of the victories of the 15th August Launch’

The Kurdish intellectual Bashir Mulla Nawaf noted that the spirit of the 15th August Launch spread and affected all parts of Kurdistan. "At the time when 15th August Leap launched in Bakur Kurdistan, the people of Rojava promised to participate in the revolution. This launch also contributed to the gains which were achieved in Başûr Kurdistan and Rojava revolution gains were also achieved through the approach and spirit of 15th August Launch. This approach continues to be an approach to face the occupation. The 15th August Launch had brought the Kurdish people from marginalization in the Middle East to be pioneering people. The results and gains of 15th August Launch are considered valuable and lofty for the peoples of Middle East."
