Pompeo ended his visit to Pyongyang, headed to Tokyo

The US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo ended his visit to North Korea to discuss denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula and headed to Tokyo.

The US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo held intensive talks with North Korean II official Kim Jong-Un on Saturday in an effort to guarantee Pyongyang's commitments to denuclearize of the Korean Peninsula.

The talks came after a summit of the US President Donald Trump and Kim Jong-Un in Singapore, during which the two leaders signed a document pledging to work towards complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

On Saturday morning, Pompeo left his residence for a place to make a safe call with Trump away from any possible North Korean surveillance before resuming his six-hour talks with a working lunch.

The meeting ended at about 03:00 pm (06:00 GMT). Pompeo left North Korea after about an hour without talking to journalists.

The US envoy left Pyongyang to Tokyo, as it will introduce its Japanese and South Korean counterparts to the talks and hold a press conference on Sunday.
