TEV-DEM: HDP's victory coincides with Rojava people's efforts to repel Erdogan's policy

The Executive Body of TEV-DEM issued a statement congratulating the Democratic Peoples’ Party (HDP) on the victory, pointing out that the will of the people would be victorious in the end.

The text of the statement included:

"To public opinion

Since AKP has taken power in Turkey, it has been moving towards policies that do not achieve stability in the area as in addition to what Erdogan has done in the past 7 years in support of terrorism and the creation of chaos in Syria and the area, it has overturned against the laws and procedures implemented in Turkey to amend items ensuring for him the control and the expansion of his powers which undoubtedly indicates the extent of his seek to achieve his ambition in the dictatorship and the absolute rule.

The elections held on June 24 in Bakur Kurdistan and Turkey took place in a state of emergency and all the authorities resorted to suppressing any opposition party.

Erdogan's dominance of power and the extension of his powers increase the risks in Turkey as the measures of exile and detention would be duplicated in the area and the Turkish intervention which has been morally and lawfully wrong by the occupation of Afrin and the rest of Syria.

Amid all repressive practices and political, social and media isolation, HDP's victory is a major victory and an important message stated that w Erdogan, whatever continues his fascism, and practices everything possible for repression and forfeiture of opinion, he will not succeed.

We in TEV-DEM congratulate HDP on this important historic victory and congratulate all the voters who voted for democracy and against the practices and violations of the dictator Erdogan. The increase in the number of parliamentarians from 59 to 67 under the current conditions and circumstances is a great victory."
