Ali Ahmed, a 48-year-old resident of Amouda city, has been collecting various pieces of folk art since 1991.

He gained the attachment to the ancient and heritage tools used by the components of the region as "the Kurds, Arabs and Syrians" who had been fascinated by folklore and heritage ever since Ali was a young man, and he like the hobby of collecting old instruments, some of which dates from 100 to 200 years.

In order to preserve the ancient artifacts and heritage that he inherited from his ancestors, and protect them from loss and disappearance, Ali opened a small shop in 2009, showing hundreds of rare old pieces, and people go to the shop to see these rare pieces.

Through this step, Ali aims at reviving the old heritage among the members of the society and reviving the common culture among the members of the area's components such as Kurd, Arab and Syriac, and preserving it from loss, especially with the smelting and extermination policies that the area's components have been subjected to at the hands of the national regimes.

There are hundreds of pieces that have been used for about 200 years. "Among them are Kurdish costumes, necklaces, copper coffee machines, musical instruments, swimming pools, rings and coins, all of which have been used by the area for centuries.

"I consider this house to be a Kurdish house. I inherited this profession from my grandfather and father since 1991, when I was 21 years old, my passion for this work made me buy hundreds of old pieces form the people," Ali Ahmed told ANHA agency.

Ali stressed that he is collecting these ancient and heritage pieces in order to revive the culture and heritage of the peoples of the region.
