Death of Kurdish artist Salah Ossi

The Kurdish artist and the vice co-chair of the Artists Union in al-Jazeera region Salah Ossi died whose age is 63 on Thursday morning after he suffered from a conflict with the disease.

Salah Ossi was born in 1955 in the village of Tel Shaer, a village in Tirbê Sipîyê district in Qamişlo canton. He was born within a national and religious family, and he devoted his life to the revival of the Kurdish art, folklore and culture.

In his society, Salah was known of his good morals and his simplicity in the social milieu and his humility among the people as one of the symbols rooted in the social and cultural milieus of Rojava.

Ossi was infected by the incurable disease and he was receiving the medical treatment at one of the hospitals in Başûr, but he returned to the city again.

The Kurdish artist Salah Ossi passed away on Thursday morning after suffering for a year from the incurable disease.

Ossi was supposed to be buried in his hometown of Tel Shaer village in Tirbê Sipîyê district at 17:00 on Thursday afternoon.
