In a statement addressed to the public, the center condemned the ongoing attacks by the Turkish occupation on North and East Syria, particularly the targeting of civilians protesting at Tishrin Dam.

The statement was read by the center’s co-chair, Samira Issa, in the presence of members of civil institutions, political parties, and residents of the city.

The statement pointed out that North and East Syria is facing "one of the fiercest attacks in human history," with artillery shelling and airstrikes from warplanes and drones targeting convoys of civilians heading to Tishrin Dam to express their rejection of the attacks and their support for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

It also condemned the Turkish occupation’s targeting of the protesting sit-ins and paid tribute to the late theater artist Jumaa Khalil Ibrahim (Bavi Tayyar), who was martyred due to injuries sustained in Turkish shelling. The statement considered the targeting of national figures an attempt to break the will of free peoples.

Furthermore, the statement praised the heroism of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Women’s Protection Units in defending the region. It called on all freedom-loving and dignified peoples to unite against the Turkish occupation, which threatens the security and stability of the entire region.

In conclusion, the Center of Culture and Art in Tal Brak urged the international community to take responsibility, act immediately to stop the repeated crimes of the Turkish occupation, and ensure the protection of civilians in North and East Syria.
